About us

Marrickville Community Peace Group and Newtown Community Peace Group are groups of local residents united to oppose any war on Iraq. We do not accept there is any reason, even under the guise of the UN, for military action that will inevitably kill thousands of innocent lives.

We are not affiliated to any political or religious group. Most of us are ordinary, concerned residents from Inner West area of Sydney, Australia. For some this is the first time we have participated in a "political" issue, or marched in a rally.

We are holding regular meetings every Thursday at 7pm, in Newtown AND Marrickville, which are attracting new members every week!

We welcome anyone interested to come and join us to discuss developing a growing anti-war/peace movement locally.
